Taco Bell Container at SXSW

SXSW comes to a close this week in Austin,TX but as it does one place that we feel should never leave is the temp Taco Bell setup made out of Shipping Containers.  This is Taco Bells first “pop-up” shipping container setup and it’s beautiful.

According to a press release, the pop-up (outside the tenth annual “Hype Hotel” at 1100 East 5th Street, in Austin) could drive Taco Bell to “explore dropping this type of asset in different locations, which will ultimately give us the ability to show up in unexpected places for our consumers.” Taco Bell also stated that they are considering “making this specific Container Restaurant a permanent location and are currently looking at several locations.”  Word on the streets is that they plan on opening 2,000 new U.S. locations by 2022.

It took only three days to setup this SXSW restaurant.  We would gather that with this quick turnaround and simple design we could see Taco Bell put a dent in this 2000 projected locations pretty quick.
